« on: December 11, 2006, 08:00:28 PM »
Competitor Information
Number competitors: TBD
Tournament format: 1 vs. 1 - (Single or Double Elimination to be decided!)
Match length: 15 minutes
Version: Current Version
Start Date: TBD

Competitor Eligibility
This tournament is open to anyone in the United States, southern Canada, and northern Mexico.

Server Information
- Server Configuration: All servers will use the Team Central Slayers: F.E.A.R. Competition 1.0 Mod.  You can download the Files you need from Here

- Server Names:  All servers will be named: “TcS 1v1 Tournament #X.”  X is the number assigned to the server.

Game Rules
- Exploits: Competitors may not utilize any known or unknown game exploits. Any attempt to exploit the game engine will result in disqualification and removal from the tournament and any future tournaments! We will also post on all major forums that you were disqualified for cheating. SO DON'T CHEAT!

- Scripts: NO SCRIPTS OF ANY KIND CAN BE USED IN THE TOURNAMENT. IF YOU HAVE A SCRIPT RUNNING YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY FUTURE SIERRA OR TCS TOURNAMENTS!

- System Crashes:  If a competitors system crashes within the first two minutes of a match, the entire match will be restarted and scores reset to 0.  On the third system crash of that round, that player will forfeit that round, his score will be recorded as 0, and the next round will be played. If a competitors system crashes after the two minute mark, play will continue and the client will need to rejoin the server and continue as soon as possible.

- Server Crash: If a server crashes during a round, that current round will be restarted and the scores will be set to 0.

- Leaving a Match: If your opponent leaves the match, you will stay in the game until the end of the round. If your opponent has not returned by the end of the round he/she forfeits that round and all others.  You should take a screenshot and report your win.

- Spectating: Only tournament administrators can spectate a match. NO OTHER PLAYERS CAN SPECTATE A MATCH, so don’t ask!  If a player is caught spectating another match, and this player is not an administrators, that player will forfeit all his/her matches and will not be able to complete the tournament. If this player is in a position to win prizes, the prizes will not be awarded to them and the next player in line will receive them.

- Spawn Times: Each player MUST spawn no longer than 5 seconds after they die.  Players are encouraged to download and install FRAPS to be able to record parts of their matches.  If your opponent is breaking any of the rules you MUST provide proof!

- Scoring: The winner will be decided by the total number of rounds won; best 2 out of 3.  Each player will play 1 map of their choice and a random map chosen by «TcS» will be played 3rd. We will still keep track of frags for statistical purposes.  If you have a negative score it will be recorded as 0.  Players are required to take a screenshot at the end of each round.  You may be asked for proof of the final score.  If you do not have proof, you will forfeit that match even if you won.  Don’t take a chance … take a screenshot!

- Match Times: Each round will have a set time that both players will agree on.  Once the players have agreed on a time that time is the finalized time.  If you need to change your time, you MUST contact an administrator at least 12 hours before match time to reschedule.  All players should check their email or the website a few hours before your match to make sure your match is still on schedule.

- Ties / Overtime: In the case of a tie you will play another round immediately after your 3rd round.  The overtime round maps will be the same order as they are for your 3 rounds.  Overtime rounds will be played until there is a winner.

- No Shows:  If a player does not show up within 15 minutes of their match time, they forfeit that match.  THIS RULE IS STRICTLY ENFORCED!

- Disputes:  If you want to dispute a match please email an administrator.  Be sure to include a detailed description of the reason for dispute.  Also, make sure to include any videos or screenshots you have of the match.  Once the administrator receives the email it will be reviewed and both player in the match will be emailed the decision of the filed dispute.

- All competitors are expected to be professional in their manner and demeanor.  Threats and/or harassment will not be tolerated!

Are the matches really going to be 10 mins. long or is that a typo?  Sounds awful short compared to normal.

they will be 10 or 15 minutes each... remember there are 3 rounds per match,  so that would either be 30 minutes or 45 minutes per match.

I am interested in this contest.  I just have a few questions.

Are TcS members applicable or is it just open to anyone outside the clan?

Is there a fee to enter and have the prizes been determined?

Do you have a rough expected turnout number?

If you use the Mp-50 to get to places you normally can't get to through jumping is that legitimate or exploiting?

I like the new 1v1 Mod you made a lot ... but why no proxies ;(?  Oh well.

Everyone is able to join, NO fees as of yet, pretty sure there will be none, you can of course donate if you would like. prizes will be big!  And hopefully this will be the biggest tourny we have hosted before hopefully shoot for 64 man tourny, that would be great!  And for the getting in places with the mp 50 do wat ever you want.  If you can get to a place, on  a building and what not be our guest, have fun!

we are still working on a prize list.. hopefully it will be a nice one.. and yes, like BAD said.. it is open to anyone that plays FEAR.  Our last 1v1 tournament was 64 players and this one will either be that size or bigger.  We still havent decided on a date yet, but once we do it will be posted on our home page and in our forums.
