Skyrim Revamped Graphics
« on: February 24, 2014, 05:59:45 PM »
Some of these screenshots really don't do it justice, if you have a couple hours to tweak the game (it's very extensive, and has to be done precise) it is AMAZING. With new game mechanics, elemental arrows, multiple squads of followers, tougher dragons, textures so amazing (close up and far), photo realistic characters. It's like a whole new game, but you better have a good PC.

Here are the directions:  http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/30936/?

WARNING: There are around 40 or so steps and it takes a couple hours to do this. The first time I did it, I missed two steps and had to re-install the game. It's worth it, just make sure you follow the steps, if you need any help doing this let me know. There are some youtube tutorials that teach you how to do it, but they are a bit outdated so they don't follow the same file sequence. Also, I don't recommend installing the Grass on Steroids or Lush Trees and Grass because they will bring your performance down dramatically. Grass on Steroids is just ugly and I don't like having grass as tall as my character.

Forgot to ask, but with those new mods, is that going to make the game that much more of a system hog?  Like will I be losing close to 50 frames?

Yeah man it does drain it quite a bit, but the visuals at 30fps are worth it, for an rpg at least.

I can only run it at 1440x900 so it will be a bit rough around the edges, but go back and play the stock game then compare these screens you will see a huge difference. Screenshots don't do it justice either, the depth of field and lighting are incredible. I love the spell lighting now too, instead of using a torch I can just set stuff on fire.

yeah I installed an enb mod months ago and it looked much better.  I've known about this, but didn't go through all the steps.  looks as if I should.

Here are some more. I added the Giant Trees mod as well because it makes the forests look much better (the default trees are so small)

Just an update, I downloaded ENBboost today (you will have to google it), gave me around 30-40% more framerate and no mouse lag on the menus. Because Skyrim (especially with Windows 8) doesn't utilize or allocate memory properly you get sluggish performance when you heavily mod it. Considering the amazing graphics I didn't mind, but wow. This update uses 100% of the video cards memory for the game and allocates system RAM properly. It runs so much better I have no idea how i played without it.
